Thanksgiving Turkey

Finely roasted and garnished with apricot stuffing and dried fruit

Every Thanksgiving, I make a cake for my day job’s potluck dessert contest. This was my first entry in 2017.

The cake comes from How To Cake It’s YouTube tutorial. It was my first time carving a cake into a totally different shape.

It was great watching people react to the cake all day. A lot of them thought it was a real cake!

I was afraid to start carving it. The glass of wine helped.

Can’t wait to roast this bird!

This picture went on Facebook and confused my family who thought it was real.

The cake was a huge hit! I’ve been hard-pressed trying to top it in the years since.
