It Was A Monster Cake
What’s a Halloween party without a spooky adorable monster cake?
Originally intended to be a little creepy, this little guy’s adorable personality couldn’t help but shine through.
He was a chocolate cake, with tart cherry filling, and vanilla swiss meringue buttercream.
Then he was covered in a dark-chocolate glaze and topped with modeling chocolate eyeballs and tentacles.
Making the drip
The drip was chocolate ganache, dyed black with food dye.
To get nice drips, it’s easiest to carefully spoon the ganache along the edges then fill the center.
Modeling chocolate decorations
I made my own modeling chocolate for these. It’s easier to just buy it pre-made though.
A toothpick or popsicle stick can be used to give them a bit of support.
