Pippa, Duchess of Dice

This cake was to die for!

I’ve been wanting to make a 3d doll cake for a while (after watching a lot of Zoe’s Fancy Cakes tutorials). I’m so glad I finally tried one.

It was really fun to try to recreate a lot of the little details in the original art.

All of the cake is under Pippa's skirt. Her figure is entirely fondant, supported by a boba straw, some armature, and popsicle sticks.Next time, I'll use gumpaste instead of fondant though. It dries harder and keeps shape better.

Fun Fact: On a six sided die opposite sides all add up to 7. So I was carefully making sure I didn’t mess it up here.

I made a four-layer Matcha cake and filled it with blueberry jam. Next, I carved it into the shape of the skirt. Then I covered it in Swiss Meringue Buttercream and green fondant.

The original art is so good! I really love Pippa's character design.Simon Dominic Brewer is responsible for many of the standout art pieces in both Unstable and Unsanctioned.

My favorite part was making her little up-turned nose. Also wishing I could rock that purple lipstick.
